I'm Just Sayin'

I agree heartily with Paul Krugman. Or, does he agree with me? Hmmm…

On the day President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, an exuberant Vice President Biden famously pronounced the reform a “big something deal” — except that he didn’t use the word “something.” And he was right.

In fact, I’d suggest using this phrase to describe the Obama administration as a whole. F.D.R. had his New Deal; well, Mr. Obama has his Big Deal.                                         – Paul Krugman, New York Times, January 20, 2013

From earlier:

You know, President Theodore Roosevelt’s progressive administration (wait, he was a Republican!) was known as The Square Deal for its fearless defense of average Americans against large corporate interests.

The administration of his cousin Franklin was nicknamed The New Deal, partly in homage to Teddy, and partly to the new programs created by FDR which muscled the USA out of the Great Depression.

And now (you know where  this is going, right?) the Obama Administration – courtesy of VP Joe Biden – can lay claim to the name The Big F%^#*-ing Deal.                                                           – Me, March 24, 2010
