There is a nice story out about a program in the School District. NJBIZ has nominated the non-profit group New Jersey After 3 and its “Trenton Afterschool Partnership” for its Innovation Award.
According to the Press Release, “TAP provides all Trenton Public School families with easy, affordable access to high-quality afterschool programs, and improves student achievement across the city by creating safe learning environments for children while parents are still at work.”
Read more here. It’s good to hear of a program in the school system getting some positive recognition. It sounds like a good example of a public-private initiative in the schools.
Not to be a rumor monger Kevin, but I believe the funding for this program was just yanked? I hear it second hand but will do some due diligence.
